Kay'mon Winkfield Murrah
Kay’mon Winkfield Murrah - lyric tenor from Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Murrah has sung throughout the country and is known to bring warmth and brilliance to the opera stage.
Mr. Murrah has sung with The Kentucky Opera as Kasper in their production of Amahl and the Night Visitors and understudied the Armed Man role in their production of Magic Flute. He has also performed with The Bluegrass Opera, The Bellarmine Chorus, The Louisville Chorus, The Lexington Singers, The University of Kentucky Opera Theatre, The University of Kentucky Men’s Choir, and many others. Mr. Murrah is currently working as the Marketing Director for the Gospel Music Workshop of America Inc., Lexington Metro Chapter and has previously worked for the Student National Association of Teacher of Singing – University of Kentucky as their Marketing Director, and The Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center as their Community Outreach Coordinator Intern where he was a key member in the administration of the Lyric Theatre Youth Summer Program.
He is also the Founder and former Co-Director of the University of Kentucky Spiritual Ensemble, and former Assistant Director for the West Louisville Boys Choir as well as the former Director for the West Louisville Treble Choir at the West Louisville Performing Arts Academy. While working with the “WLPAA”, Mr. Murrah was the visionary and Chief Coordinator for the National Boys’ Choir Convention – Louisville, Ky. Mr. Murrah has also received recognition as a Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassador for his works in the community issued by the Kentucky Secretary of State.
